About SecondBite FareShare
In Australia more than 7.6 million tonnes of food go to waste every year, while millions of Australians struggle to put meals on the table. That’s where SecondBite FareShare step in.
Formed from the merger of two national food relief powerhouses, SecondBite (who sources surplus food) and FareShare (who turns it into nutritious meals), deliver together more than 1.4 million meals annually from their kitchens in Brisbane and Melbourne.
And sometimes, partnerships are born from unexpected moments.
“We ended up with 640kg of pork just before Christmas,” recalls Kanani Draper, Chief Commercial Officer at Eurocold. “We didn’t know how to help, but we knew we wanted to. So we reached out to the RWTA, and they connected us with FareShare. That’s where it all started.”
What began as a single delivery of donated pork has grown into a lasting partnership.
“Partnering with Eurocold is a huge advantage.
We’re not just feeding people… we’re reaching further, faster, confident that no meal will be left behind,” says Chef James Fien at SecondBite FareShare.

Challenges
Rising demand, mounting pressure
As cost-of-living pressures intensify across Australia, food insecurity is reaching critical levels. SecondBite FareShare is seeing a surge in demand from community organisations, shelters, and charities that rely on them to keep vulnerable Australians fed. Scaling up quickly, without compromising food quality or delivery standards, is a daily challenge.
To meet this growing demand, SecondBite FareShare needs a fleet partner who can respond quickly, deliver consistently, and scale alongside them. That means more than just access to vehicles. It requires a team that understands the mission and can act at a moment’s notice.
“Every day counts. Every kilo counts,” says Nick Hilliard, National Supply Chain Manager. “If a vehicle goes down, it can mean lost meals. We need a partner who can get us back on the road… fast.”
Reliability, without compromise
The nature of SecondBite FareShare’s work demands that they maintain an unbroken cold chain, from the warehouses, to the kitchens, to the communities they provide relief to. There’s no room for breakdowns, patchy maintenance, or aging trucks.
What SecondBite FareShare needs from a fleet partner is clear: consistent performance, class-leading insulation, and peace of mind on every delivery.
“Our isothermal bodies are built to world-class standards and tested in Australian conditions,” says Avraam Solomon, Managing Director at Eurocold. “That means better thermal efficiency, longer product protection, and fewer risks… especially in crisis or emergency response.”

Cold Fleet Solutions
Fast, flexible, and always on call
For SecondBite FareShare, time lost is food lost. That’s why our rapid response capability is a game-changer. Our national footprint, world leading production facility, and aligned team, means we can deliver day in day out.
“Just one phone call, and we’ve got the vehicle. We’re on the road, and we’re delivering food to where it’s needed,” says Nick Hilliard.
“Whether it’s short-term rental to replace a truck, or adding capacity to meet a donation surge, Eurocold’s agility ensures that no opportunity, or meal, is missed.”
Vehicles built for the mission
Not all refrigerated trucks are created equal. Eurocold’s fleet is engineered with industry-leading insulation and world-class isothermal performance. That means longer cold retention, lower spoilage risk, and full confidence on the road.
“From the chassis to the body, every part of a Eurocold vehicle is built to perform under pressure,” says Avraam Solomon. “Our production timelines are shorter than anyone else in the market and we can prioritise builds when the mission demands it.”
For SecondBite FareShare, this means more than just trucks. It means trust. Trust that the cold chain will hold, even on the longest runs or hottest days.
Our journey together
A relationship that runs deep
What began as a one-off donation of pork before Christmas has turned into something much bigger: a long-term, values-aligned partnership. Eurocold doesn’t just supply vehicles, you’ll find the team rolling up their sleeves in the kitchen, cheering on SecondBite FareShare at events, and advocating for them behind the scenes.
“The lovely thing about this partnership is that it’s not transactional – it’s personal,” says Jackie Maxwell. “Eurocold is introducing us to new networks, new supporters. They’re helping us grow in ways we never expected.”
That support was nationally recognised at the 2023 Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia Awards, where Eurocold and FareShare took home the Community Leadership Award. A very special moment that symbolised what’s possible when logistics meets compassion.
“To be recognised by our industry for this work was humbling,” says Kanani Draper. “It’s a reminder that refrigerated transport doesn’t just move goods. It can move lives.”

This is a genuine relationship that’s grown
